My vision as a yoga instructor is to guide my students towards Self-Knowledge in a supportative and safe way.
A long time sutdent of Alignment Based Yoga (Anusara & Iyengar), I believe in taking time in poses and relaxation and helping you breathe your way to Shavasana.
My classes are based on my personal daily practice, some time mellow and restorative, other time active and fiery.

What I'd like to offer you is companionship, knowledge and belief in the natural birth process whether at home or in a hospital setting.

Helping Women go through Motherhood transistions and give them support, empower and nurture them is my Goal.
My classes are not just about Yoga, they are a place to meet Friends and find answers.
My knowledge of Alignment based Yoga will help Women to get the most benefits from their yoga practice during and after pregnancy.
My passion for Mindfulness will them inward and help them relax deeply.

I am thankful to my teachers (Jane Austin, Gurmukh, Marissa Torino) and all the women I've meet along the way and guided me to where I am.
I hope to transmit this knowledge to many women and help them find their freedom.
Spirit Baby - Mama Support

    Empty Cradle Broken Heart (Surviving the Death of your Baby) by Deborah Davis (lots of advice of grieving & coping after various forms of infant loss; includes an interesting & more medically detailed description of the effects of trauma/grief)

    Notes for the Everlost: A Field Guide to Grief by Kate Inglis (part memoir, part handbook for heartbroken parents of baby loss, kind of brash at times. Mom had a crash C-section for preemie twins - one lives and one dies)

    An Exact Replica of a Figment of my Imagination by Elizabeth McCracken (well-written memoir of a woman's stillbirth while living abroad and her subsequent pregnancy/baby. Def has some dark humor in there but offers hope, too)

    They Were Still Born: Personal Stories about Stillbirth by Janet Atlas (great compilation of stories from parents and grandparents affected by stillbirth; 2nd half of book is all facts and research being done on stillbirth.)

    I am part of the Mindful Schools Teacher Graduate and a student of Jon Kabat-Zinn and MBSR.

    Mindfulness and Kids Yoga
    Witnessing the benefits of my own Yoga and Minfulness practice led me to believe that these are fondamental in helping to gorw as empowered human beings.
    I wish to teach children these valuable life skills.
    For the past 8 years, I have been teaching kids to be compassionate, curious and empowered through play, yoga and mindfulness, in various shcools of the bay area.

    10 weeks Private yoga teaching Mentorship
    Alexandra Rossi mentorship program provides a unique experience in continuing education.

    Over the course of 10 weeks, you will be guided through an in-depth study of asana practice, teaching skills and yogic study.
    Alexandra will challenge and support you to find your own voice as a teacher.

    The program has flexible hours and is made up of the following components:

  • You will meet with alexandra once every 2 weeks for a discussion session live or over the phone.
  • These sessions will be structured to outline your goals and objectives and discuss your progress.
    You will also be given reading and writing assignments relevant to your interests.

  • Asana Practice
  • You are required to practice 1 Asana classes per week with your mentor (Minimum 10 Hours)

  • Observation / Assist
  • Initially, you will observe alexandra’s class and have a brief discussion afterwards to answer any questions that may have arisen regarding sequencing and assists, later you may begin to offer assists within the class (Total 10 Hours)

  • Practice Teaching
  • Towards the end of the program, you will have an opportunity to teach one full-length class. Alexandra will observe and provide feedback.

  • Personal Study
  • Your mentor will assign you reading and writing projects to complete, custom-tailored based on your personal intentions and what your mentor deems most appropriate for you. (Minimum 20 Hours)

    This program is open to those who:
  • Have completed a 200-hour yoga teacher training program (or equivalent)
  • Who are currently teaching a weekly class

  • Schedule: This unique program can start at any time.

    Private mindfulness for families
    This classes provide mindfulness for children and parents in the comfort of their home.
    Helping the whole family practice and integrate mindfulness in daily life and learn to be more mindful together.
    Helping sustain positive communication and mindfulness skills to best deal with frustration.
    Mindful Family private’s provide intro sessions and short courses to enable adults and children to try mindfulness in accessible formats. Courses are interactive, engaging, practical and suitable for beginners as well as complementary to other mindfulness training.

    Postnatal Private
    Postnatal Yoga is a great way to build strength and flexibility to help carry a growing baby and alleviate common aches and pains after pregnancy also allowing for quicker postnatal recovery.
    Alexandra postnatal yoga and Pilate exercises are targeted to teach you to use your muscles efficiently after labor, taking in consideration pelvic floor and Diastasis Recti.
    Alexandra also focuses on effective breathing and relaxation techniques so you are better recover to care for your baby.
    Private classes give you a calm, quiet, relaxing and rejuvenating space to turn your attention inward and connect with your body.

    Mindfulness and yoga birth preparation
    Helpful tips and guidance for the journey into parenthood for both partners ...

    This workshop will help you foster a connection with your labouring partner to deepen their awareness of your unique needs in labor.
    We will be using prenatal partner yoga asana, massage and mindful communication to promote a conscious birth experience.
    You will also learn the stages of labour & delivery and important facts about laboring at home and birthing at the hospital.
    You will learn how to create the optimal connection with the baby after the birth and useful tips about postpartum phase.

    This course aim to reduce stress and anxiety because they have a detrimental effect on both mother and baby.
    You will learn mindfulness method of meditation as well as how to guide the mother internal dialogue with words of encouragement and supportive language that can help her to stay focused on positive thoughts and have a calmer childbirth experience.
    You will learn soothing visualization designed to help ease the anxious vibes before giving birth.

    Alexandra Mindful birth and yoga course offers valuable tools to get through the transformational process of birth and prepares you for parenting. Most importantly, it offers mindfulness techniques to use in your daily life, starting from the first class.

    I am a Yoga Instructor (ERYT500), a Mindfulness Educator (ME)(MBSR) and a Doula (DTI).
    I teach people and their family on how to relax in the present moment.
    I have taught yoga since 2010 in various studios and school of the Bay Area.
    I have learned first-hand during pregnancy how important yoga is to women's health and well being.
    A part of my practice is therefore orientated to help women in transition to motherhood.
    I am interested in sharing real life experience with my students, advocating for a holistic approach to pregnancy and birth.
    I wish to create a community of Moms to be and new Mothers where they can find adequate support.
    With a background in early childhood education and a love for mindfulness and neuroscience, I have dedicated the rest of my practice to children well-being.
    In that realm I have studied and taught children and youth yoga, as well as mindfulness to children and to families.
